Creative Sparks:

Alex Pryce

Alex Pryce, poet and podcaster from Northern Ireland has set up a poetry podcast, www.poetcasting.co.uk, which is attracting considerable attention within the UK poetry community. The website aims to showcase the best of established and emerging, performance and published poets from across the UK. That means that award-winning poets appear alongside younger writers in what is a truly diverse online library.
More than 50 poets already feature on the site, with every person recorded personally either at live events or in a one to one session. Users can subscribe via RSS feed, or simply log on and listen. The site has recently been selected for archiving by the British Library, as an important cultural resource.

Alex has also been working on podcasting projects with the Poetry Society, providing audio for Poetry International Web, the Foyle Young Poets website and the Rise Londonwide Youth Slam.
She has been given the opportunity to work with poets on her own writing, attending an Arvon Foundation course in Yorkshire this summer. She also received a bursary from the John Hewitt Society to attend their 20th International Summer School.
