The Ignite! office has been busy and buzzing away with all kinds of wonderful things over the last couple of weeks;
* The Cargoes Exhibition is in the last day of its tour at the sustainable business centre iCon in Daventry, after being showcased all across the East Midlands. We’re looking into the possibilities of re-touring later in the year.
* We are very pleased to announce that Lab_13 has been nominated for the UKRC/WISE Diversity; awards the winners will be announced in November.
* There are some very exciting new projects on the horizon:
First the 3-2-1 Ignition* pop-up shop, which is a S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering and maths) shop which will ‘pop up’ in the Nottingham City Centre from the 15th -31st of October. We currently have an open call for practitioners and volunteers to come and get involved, for more information please contact us. Today already the very lovely people at the Institute of Making, the British Geological Survey, FutureMorph and Young Engineers have said they would like to be involved.
Ignite! is currently in conversation with the Renewal Trust and we are planning to have a My Space, My City, My World in the St.Anns area of Nottingham. It will be the first time it will be done in its full and extended form in Nottingham following a pilot project in Manning School last year.
* Rick (Hall) and Rick (Jones) also spend a wonderful afternoon at the Derby Silk Mill’s Make It Up, summer project, where they got to see the magical chain reaction machine created by the young people, a fine example of Ignite!’s creativity in engineering.
More updates coming very shortly, do keep popping back for more.
