Huxlow Science School
Year 9 pupils from Huxlow Science College led and planned an event for 90 local primary school pupils to take part in. The event was a mix of mathematical logic games and coding and cryptography activities.
Excitement and imagination of the Year 9 pupils was given permission to run untamed when creating their mathematical games. The 36 secondary pupils running the Come Alive with Science event had primary pupils communicating and playing with mathematical concepts in their creative games which involved: physical movement/actions, electro-luminescent wire, a laser display, Â dressing up, an African drum, animal sound effects, live video feeds, lighting effects and even space-hoppers!
The practitioners helping the Year 9 pupils’ ideas come to life were: Stephanie Meth-Gibson (Creative Practitioner) and Adil Jaffer (STEM Practitioner).
