Bowbridge Lab 13 Launch Day
Bowbridge Lab 13 has launched!
We are thrilled to announce that our next Lab 13 has launched! Bowbridge Primary School in Newark held its Launch Day on Friday 23rd September, and what a fantastic launch it was! Once the Lab had been officially opened by the Mayor, the activities began. Based around a superhero theme, different classes from the school came along to 'blast a monster', create a 'hovering superhero', or race their chosen superhero up a tower. All the activities involved different aspects of STEM, and we were joined by pupil;s from the nearby secondary school, who came along to demonstrate how to make 'Elephant Toothpaste'! Whilst the Superhero activities were happening, classes throughout the school were testing their 'egg flying machines'! From a raised balcony, eggs were dropped to see what method would prevent the smashing! We saw egg parachutes, tubes aimed at the landing pad to control the fall, eggs wrapped in cushions, mod rock, and even an egg suspended in water in a plastic glove! it was a fantastic display of creativity, with lots of engineering, experimenting and eggs involved!
