Gamma waves and ducks on feet . . .

Once again, this years STEM Fluency Lab was a fantastic five days of creativity and thinking outside the box!

We danced, we sang, we played with plasticine, modrock and rainbow candles. And left with a toolbox full of creative teaching resources!

20 regional teachers, 6 regional practitioners, and 4 Lab organisers took over Whitwell for five days, to investigate and develop their STEM teaching and practise, and see how it could benefit from a more creative angle. We all saw moments of frustration, anxiousness, 'Eureka' moments, and overall, the feeling of the group was of enthusiasm, excitement for the future, and a touch of sadness to be leaving behind the magic atmosphere of the Lab. Not only did this years lab provide some fantastic ideas and creative thinking, but also a great opportunity for networking, and schools working together across the region. We look forward to seeing the long term results of some of these collaborations.

Each Lab is different, and it is the people who attend the lab who change the dynamics of each one. We had a great group of people, who brought their individuality and creativity in full force. After lots and lots of laughter and some great activities, everyone left the Lab hopefully a little more enthused and optimistic for their own personal development.
