Tom started an Internet company, Soccernet.com, in his bedroom when he was a teenager. ESPN bought the company for £25m from Associated Newspapers while he was studying for his GCSE’s. In 2001, Tom and his father started an online education company called Schoolsnet.com. His dot.com success story was reported by Time Magazine, the Financial Times, Vanity Fair, CNN and every national newspaper in the UK.
Tom is a Patron of the National Youth Agency and was named a ‘Global Leader of Tomorrow’ by the World Economic Forum in Davos. Since moving to America to study at Harvard University, Tom has launched a global environmental education programme, a fund to engage young people around the world in local environmental projects, and an initiative to raise awareness of the genocide in Sudan.
