Guthlaxton College

Working with practitioners Laurel Armstrong and Nathen Hulme, pupils from Guthlaxton College created an image collage from photographs taken at the various primary schools visited. At each primary school, Laurel and Nathan led workshops themed around the circus, involving balancing weights on tightrope walkers, target shooting and a marble trampoline! The primary schools visited were:

Beaumont Leys School

Pupils from Beaumont Leys School worked with Frazer Johnston and Dr Dan Brown on activities based around the creation of an observatory garden. Activities included creating a sundial, to investigate time, seasons, and shadow casting, and also using willow structures to communicate message about the school, and represent Beaumont Leys School as a constellation. This idea of creating constellations was then taken to feeder primaries for the primary pupils to try.

Redmoor High School

'Can you see what I hear?-My body's Social Network' was the performance piece that came from Redmoor High School. The piece was inspired from looking at the human body, and the was all its parts communicate with each other. Pupils worked with practitioners Miriam Keye and Matthew Coates.

Ivanhoe College

Primary school pupils visiting Ivanhoe College had a great time visiting the CAWS activities pupils and practitioners Dean Williams and Mark Walton created. In a room full of fantastic activities, there was a choice of a CSI type crime scene, a full scale 'operation' game, and a life sized board game full of deadly diseases!

Crown Hills Community College

Students worked with practitioners Michelle Walker and Claire Kemp to build an installation to showcase digital media. Primary school pupils visited the installation, and got involved in the building and interaction of the 'Crown Hills Mini Multiplex'.

Countesthorpe Community College

Along with Dr Leigh Fish and Liz Anelli, pupils from Countesthorpe have been developing fantastic geodesic domes to showcase their creative STEM work.
