Scroll down to see what happened in the schools of Nottinghamshire!
Trinity School
Trinity School took on a quiz show theme for their Come Alive with Science activity, based loosely around ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’! 3-4 questions were chosen per student based around science, and the possible answers were acted out to an audience, who then chose their answer! The quiz show was put on twice – once for the primary school children, and a second performance followed for parents and staff. Along with roughly 80 students, Trina Halder(scientist) and Rachel Scanlon(creative practitioner) were involved in Trinity’s activities.
The Manor School
Astronomical Adventures was the topic the Manor School chose for their Come Alive with Science activities. Pupils from year 9, 10 and 12 presented experiments and demonstrations to primary school children, and the whole process was captured through a video diary. Martin Blackham was the school’s creative practitioner, and he was joined by Victoria Williams, a practising scientist.
Top Valley
Primary school pupils from Rise Park Primary, Westglade Primary, Robin Hood Primary and Stanstead Primary were all invited to Top Valley to learn about famous scientists and their work. Top Valley students were divided up into six groups, each group presenting information and experiments linked to their chosen famous scientist. The students were joined by scientist Charlotte Hilton, and creative practitioner Andy Barratt.

Samworth Church Academy
Samworth Church Academy, with the help of Sam Tang and Nikki Kemp, divided their Come Alive with Science activities into four days;
1 day of science – various experiments undertaken, and photos to record the event
1 space day – all lessons in the school, regardless of the subject, had a space theme for the day
1 day relating to cells – art work was incorporated to investigate further
And finally 1 day was dedicated to presenting all the findings from the previous days, with experiments, and space activities galore!
