Nottinghamshire schools 2011

Arnold Hill School and Technology College

Three themes were followed at Arnold Hill, 'The Voyager Project', which looked into space, extra-terrestrial life forms and probes from NASA. 'Communication through time' allowed the students to look into communication devices through the ages, and the 'Time Capsule Ceremony' rounded off the weeks activities, and the time capsule will be unearthed in 2022.

The Becket School

Students working with Kevin Chittock and Nettie Scriven investigated forensic science, and invited primary school pupils to help with the investigation.

Ashfield School

Ashfield School followed a circus theme, and used this theme to look into the history of communication, with the help of practitioners Kirsty Mead and Pete Crowther.

Samworth Church Academy

Pupils from Samworth Church Academy worked with practitioners Rachel Scanlon and Trina Halder in delivering creative STEM activities to their local primary school, The Abbey Primary School.

Nottingham Academy

Along with Sam Tang and Julian Hanby, students at Nottingham Academy led primary school pupils through a crime scene based day, with various activities designed to help them unearth clues to lead to the culprit. From fingerprinting, to secret message, the activities helped the pupils find who had stolen the sweet jar, and how they had hidden their tracks!
