Like the famous art studio, Room 13, (www.room13scotland.com) imagine a lab managed by young people for young people where they can experiment, play, invent, design, solve problems, explore, work alongside a scientist/designer/engineer in residence… and so much more. Sounds like a dream? Well, it could become a reality for six schools in the region.
Kitchen 13?
A space where young people can develop their ideas about food technology is the dream of the students at Manning School in Aspley, Nottingham. The recent application to host the first Lab 13 so impressed the panel of experts visiting local schools that they expressed their wish to support the idea....
Dovecote Primary School Lab 13 created
The first Lab 13 has been created at Dovecote Primary School, Nottingham.
Lab 13 is one of the most exciting and significant developments of Ignition*; a space devoted to experiment and curiosity that is managed by young people themselves.
