Wow - another incredible year for the Nottinghamshire Festival of Science and Curiosity which is powered by Ignite! Between 9-20 February this year, children, young people and families from all across the county came together to experience all things STEM in places such as their local library, museums, community gardens, community centres, cinemas, and places of worship.
This is what we got up to:
Over 3800 school pupils from 76 schools across Nottingham & Nottinghamshire took part in our festival programme
Over 9000 people took part in our 78 public events in 51 venues across Nottingham & Nottinghamshire, with participants from every Nottinghamshire postcode area
98% of attendees said that they learnt something new and 93% said that they enjoyed their experience at FOSAC
Our attendees used words such as ‘welcoming’, ‘interactive’, ‘educational’, ‘fun’, ‘creative’ and ‘inspiring’ to describe their experience at festival events
13000 festival magazines were printed and distributed including our very first easy-read version for those learning at KS1 levels
359 people delivered activities including academics, students, researchers, industry experts, artists, community activists and science communicators
“We loved travelling to Nottingham and meeting other science lovers from different schools. It gave me a lot of confidence to explain science to others!”
